Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 October 2026
These terms apply when you use CoFellow, a platform operated by CoFellow that connects travellers who want to volunteer ("volunteers") with hostels, homestays, farms, cafés and organisations that host them ("hosts"). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use CoFellow
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must give true information about yourself and keep it up to date.
- One person, one account. You are responsible for everything done with your login.
2. What CoFellow does and does not do
CoFellow is a meeting place. Hosts and volunteers agree the stay, the work and the living arrangements directly with each other. CoFellow is not a party to that agreement, is not an employer or employment agency, and does not pay or receive wages for any work. We review hosts and identity documents, but a review is not a guarantee about any person or place. Use your own judgement and follow our safety guidelines.
3. Volunteering is not employment
Stays are a cultural exchange: a volunteer helps for a limited number of hours and receives accommodation and the benefits listed by the host. Hosts must not use CoFellow to fill jobs that should be paid, must keep to the hours and days off shown in their listing, and must follow the laws that apply to them.
4. Host responsibilities
- Describe the place, the work, the hours, the food and the room accurately, with real photos.
- Provide a safe, clean place to sleep and the meals you promised.
- Never ask volunteers for money, deposits or their original identity documents.
- Treat every volunteer with respect. Harassment of any kind leads to removal from CoFellow.
5. Volunteer responsibilities
- Arrive on the agreed dates, or tell the host as early as possible if your plans change.
- Contribute the agreed hours and respect house rules, local laws and culture.
- Arrange your own travel, visas and health or travel insurance.
6. Reviews and messages
Only a volunteer and a host who completed a stay together can review each other. Reviews must be honest and about the stay. We may hide reviews or close chats that break these terms. Keep conversations on CoFellow until the stay is confirmed, so that we can help if something goes wrong.
7. Fees, payments and refunds
Creating an account and listing a place are free. Volunteers get a number of free applications; after that, an Explorer membership gives unlimited applications for the time shown. Hosts may buy Host Plus or listing boosts. Current prices are on the Pricing page and include taxes. You are only charged after you confirm a payment.
Payments are processed by Razorpay; CoFellow does not see or store your card or UPI details. Plans do not renew automatically. Buying again before a plan ends adds the new time after the current end date.
You can ask for a full refund within 7 days of paying if you have not sent an application since (memberships), the listing has not been boosted for more than a day (boosts), or the ID check has not started (fast-track). Write to us from Support with your payment reference. Certificates are not refundable once issued. Volunteers never pay hosts, and hosts must not ask volunteers for money for a volunteer stay.
8. Suspension and deletion
We may suspend or remove accounts, listings or reviews that break these terms or put people at risk. You can delete your account at any time from Settings once you have no upcoming stays or live listings.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, CoFellow is not liable for what happens during a stay arranged between a host and a volunteer. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other laws that cannot be excluded.
10. Contact and grievances
For questions or complaints, raise a support ticket from your dashboard or write to shubamsaini.sain10@gmail.com. Our grievance officer details are listed in the Privacy Policy. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
